One scaled score for the whole exam, from 0 to 100, equated across forms; 70 passes. It is not a percent, not a raw count, and not scored per section. There is no penalty for a wrong answer.

After a fail, a new attempt can be booked the next day; there is no limit on attempts, and each one pays the fee again.
The license application must be completed within 12 months of passing, or the exam is taken again. It is filed electronically through Sircon or NIPR; the Texas Department of Insurance’s fee is $50 per license type, non-refundable.
